Rider profile
A few laps of a quiet loop with your power meter, and your FIT file. You get your own CdA, and Crr when the ride can tell them apart.
How to test
- Find a loop of 1 to 3 km, or a road to ride out and back, with no traffic lights or sharp corners.
- Pick a day with as little wind as you can. Pump your tyres to the pressure you race at.
- Ride at least three laps in one position, without braking. Press the lap button each time you pass the same point.
- To measure Crr too, ride some laps slow and some fast, at least 8 km/h apart.
- Upload the FIT file from your head unit, with speed from a wheel sensor if you have one.
The guide to the Chung method explains why.
Sign in to upload a ride Free, by invitation for now. Just your email, no password.
Sign in and every ride test is kept with its date, its bike and its position. An accepted test sets your CdA for that bike and position, and pacing uses it.
Every step and its source is on the method page.
